SEA Aquarium to Transport Aquatic Animals Long Distance

The Seattle Aquarium has decided to prioritize the “well-being” of animals during long-distance transport, as per the standards set by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). However, aside from harm to individual animals, it’s important to also consider the broader issue of species conservation and the impact of human activities on the environment.
Transportation of animals for display in aquariums contributes to climate change, as outlined by the National Wildlife Federation, and the capture and confinement of wild animals can have negative effects on their populations, as per Born Free USA. Therefore, it’s vital to focus on conservation efforts such as habitat protection and restoration, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting conservation programs that do not include confining wild animals to a tank. Moreover, it’s also necessary to consider the ethical implications of confining wild animals in captivity for human entertainment, as it leads to physical and psychological distress. These animals thrive in their natural habitats, and it’s essential to keep that in mind.
In conclusion, the Seattle Aquarium must stop its practice of displaying animals in captivity and consider the bigger picture of conservation and the impact of human activities on the environment.
