WWF Supports Seal Massacre

Just letting you know, in case there was anyone left who still thought the WWF was in it for the animals. It has long been a haven for big game hunters, trappers, hunters, fur farmers, commercial fishing operations, and other animal abusers. It supports both the commercial slaughter and the ‘recreational’ killing of wildlife. In their own words: “We support the hunting and consumption of wild animals provided the harvesting does not threaten the long-term survival of wildlife populations. The WWF has never opposed a sustainable seal hunt in northern or eastern Canada.”
In fact, the WWF has endorsed the worst massacre of marine mammals on the planet: the Canadian government now subsidizes the largest seal slaughter since the 1800s, with a quota of 350,000 a year for three years. There is nothing “sustainable” about this and the government has not produced one peer-reviewed scientific study to justify such numbers. Yet, the World Wildlife Fund endorses it.
So quietly cancel your membership and pretend you knew all along. But when you do, be sure to let the WWF****** know EXACTLY why (or tell them why you never WILL have a membership):

About Franziska

I've been a vegetarian for almost 30 years now, since adopting my first dog, and vegan for more than 10. Why? The simplest and truest answer is that I love animals, and knowing what happens to them just to satisfy selfish human desires makes consuming any animal products impossible. I am a NARN Board member because its goals, beliefs, and ethics are mine, and because nothing is ever done that doesn't have only the animals at heart. There are no politics, no factions, no arguments, no personal motives. As for my favorite quote, it is beyond a doubt Ralph Waldo Emerson's "The purpose of life is not to be happy. The purpose of life is to be useful. To be useful, compassionate, honorable, and to have it matter that you lived."
