Tell Utah’s Senators to OPPOSE HB 187, “Ag Gag” Legislation
Take action and let Uath’s Senators know they need to OPPOSE HB 187, Agricultural Operation Interference. This bill that targets anyone who photographs or films factory farm abuses, which supporters describe as “terrorism,” has overwhelmingly passed the House.

Contact information for Utah’s State Senators:
http://www.utahsenate.org/aspx/roster.aspx

Please take the time to send the Senators a personal email, and not a form email from PETA or HSUS.  They need to know individuals, not animal rights groups oppose this bill.

If passed by the Utah Senate, HB187 will criminalize taking photographs and videos of animal factory farms even if that evidence shows violations of the law.

This bill has already passed the House, but now the SENATORS need to hear from us.
Senators Robles, Romero, McAdams, Jones, and Morgan have already communicated their opposition to this bill – which is great – but we have to keep reaching out to the rest of the senators until they oppose this anti-law enforcement bill.  Please contact as many Utah State Senators as you can.

Take Action Against Cat Killing Lab

Please contact Dr. Gibbens and demand that he take immediate action against Southwest Biolabs for the murder of 10 cats.

Federal reports reveal the gruesome deaths of ten cats at the Southwest Biolabs (Las Cruces, NM) and a National Research Watchdog Organization, SAEN is demanding a huge federal fine.
A recently obtained December, 2011, USDA inspection report reveals that a mechanical failure caused the temperature to rise so precipitously in a room which housed cats that ten of the animals died of heat prostration.
Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! (SAEN) is releasing the report to New Mexico news media and has called for a stiff fine for Southwest Biolabs.
“Negligence at this lab literally cooked ten cats to death,” said Michael A. Budkie, A.H.T., Executive Director, SAEN. “This facility should face the maximum penalty allowable under the law.”
SAEN has filed an official complaint with the USDA insisting on a full investigation of the incident and a severe fine.
Tell These companies to Stop Sponsoring the Iditarod
Please send protest emails, forward this alert widely and post it on Facebook and let these companies know that they must end their sponsorship of this cruel, grueling race that causes pain and death to dogs, before, during and after “the race.”

Contact information, groups of email addresses and links to more info is below.

Although some corporations have ended their support for the Iditarod, the dogs still need your help. Take action to end the cruel treatment of dogs by sending protest emails to the 2012 Iditarod supporters. What happens to dogs during the Iditarod includes death, bloody diarrhea, paralysis, frostbite (where it hurts the most!), bleeding ulcers, lung damage, pneumonia, ruptured discs, viral diseases, kennel cough, broken bones, torn muscles and extreme stress. At least 142 dogs have died in the race, including two dogs who froze to death in the brutally cold winds.

Most Internet service providers allow people to send up to 40 email addresses at a time. For your convenience, email addresses for the 2012 Iditarod sponsors, promoters, and musher sponsors have been divided into groups of 40. Please email the first group first. Scroll down to find the sample letter. Under it you’ll find individual email addresses for race supporters. Email groups with semicolons are on http://www.helpsleddogs.org/sponsors.htm. People and organizations who support the lditarod may deny it or give misleading statements about their involvement. The Sled Dog Action Coalition has documentation to prove what it says and will provide it upon request.

About rachel

Hi, I'm Rachel and I've been active with NARN as long as I've been vegan 13 years! I made the choice to be vegan after learning about what happens to egg laying chickens and dairy cows. I had previously been vegetarian for 7 years because I finally made the connection that beef came from cows and pork came from pigs (duh, I know). I didn't want my food choices to cause the death of an animal. It just seems like common sense to not eat animals if you care at all about animals, the earth or your fellow human beings. I became active with NARN because after I found out about the atrocities happening to animals, I felt that I had to do what I could to help stop these injustices. NARN is local, puts the animals first, and networks with other groups. We aren't worried about getting credit - just helping the animals. One of my favorite quotes is: "I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all." ~ Leo Rosten and "Progress in every age results only from the fact that there are some men and women who refuse to believe that what they know to be right cannot be done." --Russell W. Davenport
