Special Screening of…
Special Screening of Albatross
April 10, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Kane Hall, room 110, University of Washington
Sponsored by several departments at the University of Washington:
Screening of this powerful movie:
ALBATROSS is a powerful visual journey into the heart of a gut-wrenching environmental tragedy. On one of the remotest islands on Earth, tens of thousands of albatross chicks lie dead on the ground, their bodies filled with plastic. Returning to the island over several years, Chris and his filming team witnessed cycles of birth, life, and death of these magnificent creatures as a multi-layered metaphor for our times. ALBATROSS walks us through the fire of horror and grief, facing the immensity of this tragedy — and our own complicity — head on. And in this process, we find an unexpected route to a deeply felt experience of beauty and love for the miracle of life on Earth. Stepping outside the stylistic templates of traditional environmental or documentary films, ALBATROSS takes viewers on a lyrical guided tour into the depths of their own spirits, delivering a profound message of reverence and renewal that is already reaching an audience of millions of people around the world.

Letter Writing Party…
Letter Writing Party!
April 25, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Cookie Counter, 7415 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103, USA
oin NARN ( Northwest Animal Rights Network ) for our monthly #vegan letter writing party! We’ll be gathering at Veggie Grill in South Lake Union!
NARN provides the stationery, pens, stamps, sample letters, and ideas for what to write -- just bring yourself. You can even bring your laptop if you'd prefer to type or email your letters!
Why letter writing? Letter writing is a simple way to make change for the animals! At our letter writing events, we write for many different reasons: opposition to the creation of new animal laboratories, support for sending animals to sanctuary, promotion of vegan events and issues through letters to the media, and raising the spirits of activists and comrades who have been jailed for their pro-animal and political actions!
Come for a little while or spend the whole two hours with us.
